"Looking at Lightning" is a series I worked on from 2017–2018. It involves augmenting found, thrifted and vintage objects containing a reflective element, with hand embroidery depicting nature kitsch. This series is motivated by ideas and questions involving self-reflection, humans encountering nature, and what happens when we look to nature for insight into ourselves.
